Showers linger this morning after the overnight soaking. But we’re mainly dry and mild by late morning and afternoon. A cold front pushes through tonight, setting the stage for cool and dry weather Monday through much of Tuesday. Another system could bring a few rain showers, maybe even a few snowflakes for some, Tuesday night into early Wednesday.
Today (Sunday): We start the day with patchy fog and lingering scattered showers. Once we get past 10 a.m. or so, we should be mostly dry through the rest of the day despite mostly cloudy skies, although we can’t rule out an isolated shower or two during the afternoon into evening. Mild temperatures climb from near 50 this morning to afternoon highs in the upper 50s and low 60s with light winds. Confidence: Medium-High
Tonight: Mostly cloudy skies with the chance of an isolated evening shower, followed by partially clearing skies overnight. Cooler air begins to filter in behind a cold front with lows in the low to mid-40s. Confidence: Medium-High

Tuesday should start with morning sunshine followed by increasing afternoon clouds as highs top out in the upper 40s to low 50s. Another cold front brings the chance of rain showers Tuesday evening and overnight. Can’t rule out a few snowflakes mixing in overnight north and west of D.C. as lows drop into the 30s. Confidence: Medium
A few rain showers could linger Wednesday morning, and again, we can’t rule out snowflakes north and west of D.C. Sunshine and breezes should increase by afternoon, with colder highs in the mid-40s. Wednesday night lows dip to the 20s to near 30, so plan to send the kids to the bus stop with extra layers Thursday morning! Partly sunny and still rather cool Thursday, with highs in the 40s.
